STATE CONTROL POWERS
Recd. 6 p.m. Canberra, Nov. 20. Regulations have been issued empowering the Government to take over the coal mines: and otner essential undertakings where war supplies are threatened. Managers will be provided to keep the undertakings open. It is stated officially that the decision was not made as a stop towards nationalisation of industry. Regulations have been issued m the nam? of Mr. Curtin as Minister inf Defence. Mr. Curtin declined to comment o nthe regulations.
