CHINESE AND AMERICANS
Recd. 6 p.m. New Delhi, Nov. 18. American-trained Chinese troops, which are advancing in front of American units constructing a supply road from Assam to the Burma Road, have penetrated from 20 to 30 miles further into Burma since the first move was made, says a communique from General Stilwell’s headquarters. They hold the north banks and the Taruna and Chindwin Rivers, and have occupied several villages on the Upper Chindwin. They have driven the Japanese out of several positions.
