RAILWAY REVENUE
SEVEN MONTHS’ TOTAL (P.A.) Wellington, Nov. 19. Relurns gazetted last night show that from April 1 to October 16 of this year the net revenue earned by the New Zealand railways was £1,883,835. The gross revenue was £8,378,005, and the expenditure amounted to £6.494.170. The number of passengers carried by rail in this period was 22,006,066, and goods carried aggregated 4,932,222 tons. The number of passengers carried by the road motor services operated by the department in the same period was 6,137,525, and the total net revenue was £310,561. In the four-weekly period ended on October 16 the net rail revenue was £233,219. and the net revenue from the road motor services £45,604.
