FERRY EXPRESSES
QUEUES FOR HOLIDAY BOOKINGS
(P.A.) Wellington, Nov. 19. The announcement that steamer passages to December 22 could be booked from to-day resulted in long queues at the Union Steam Ship office and the Government Tourist Office and also expedited railway bookings, prospective holiday makers following up their assurance of sea transport by making railway arrangements so far as the month margin permits. The Union Company states that it does not think the rush to book was necessary because time-tables arranged for the holiday period have a much greater capacity than for some years, this applying also to the whole of the Christmas and New Year period extending from December 20 to January 9.
