PRESENTATION TO MRS. R. TREADWELL <O.C.) Taihape, Nov. 18. A pleasing ceremony took place at Mrs. C. Darvill’s rooms at Tainape on Wednesday afternoon, where a number of National Party supporters assembled. Mr. W. R. Anderson, chairman of the Taihape branch, presided, and referred to tne excellent work that had been carried out by Mr. and Mrs. R. Treadwell in organising the northern portion of the Rangitikei electorate at the recent election, and the success which had attended their efforts. Mr. J. Caithness (chairman) and Mr. A. Way (secretary) eulogised the services that had been rendered by both Mr. and Mrs. Treadwell, whic.i were a big factor in the re-election of Mr. E. G. Gordon. Mr. E. B. Gordon, M.P., in making the presentation of a handsome lady’s handbag to Mrs. Treadwell, stated that the organisation in Rangitikei was something to be proud of. Right throughout the electorate the branches had co-operated in a spontaneous manner over such a snort period, and the result achieved was wonderful. To the ladies he extended the executive committee’s thanks for their assistance and entertaining after the meetings, which made the campaign quite a pleasure. In their electorate chairman and secretary he said they were fortunate in having two sucn officers to conduct the campaign, whose efficiency was second to none. In concluding he hoped that the branches would assist in keeping the organisation up to its present high standard, and that at the next election they would be successful in placing the” National Party on the Government benches. Mr. and Mrs. Treadwell suitably replied. thanking the speakers for their appreciative' remarks and handsome gift.
