SUCCESSFUL ALLIED ATTACK
GILBERT AND MARSHALL ISLANDS
Recd. 11 p.m. Pearl Harbour, Nov. 16. Pacific headquarters announced that successfully attacked Japanese installations in the Gilbert and Marshall Islands last Saturday night and Sunday morning. Large fires were started near the runways. No air opposition was encountered and the planes were undamaged despite flak.
