NAZI LINE LONGER
RESULT OF RETIREMENT Reed. 6.30 p.m. Rugby, Nov. 15. The line to which the Germans were forced back from the Pripet to the mouth of the Dnieper is reckoned to be about 300 miles longer than a that where they probably hoped to F stabilise the situation. The consequence is that they must be getting somewhat thin on the ground by now in some parts of the front. Indeed, the speed of the Russian ■rogress west of Kiev suggests that the German front has been so broken that only the main centres and lines of communications are held, leaving empty space between. The Russian “box” beyond Kiev has swollen to a solid block of territory stretching 90 miles west of the Dnieper and about the same distance from north to south.—B.O.W.
