MARTON. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Stantiall, Goebel’s Line, Marton, have received advice that their son. Private Clarence Arthur Stantiall, who was previously reported a prisoner of war, is now posted as missing after shipwreck, apparently while being transported by sea to a prisoner of war camp in Italy, about August 17, 1943. Miss E. M. Kinross, principal of the Maori Giris’ College, with several pupils, left Marton on Friday evening for Ruatoria, Gisborne, where the parents of 2nd-Lieut. Moanui-a-Kiwa Ngarimu will receive from the Governor-General the Victoria Cross posthumously awarded to their son for gallantry at Takrouna, in Tunisia.
