GENERAL MARSHALL
WILL LEAD INVASION OF CONTINENT
Recd. 10 p.m. New York. Sept. 30. High quarters confirm that General Marshall will soon establish his headquarters in England to direct the Allied invasion of the Continent from the west, says the New York Times’ London correspondent. However, it is emphasised that General Marshall will command only the forces which actually attack Europe from the west, and will not supersede General Eisenhower, who will continue as Commander-In-Chief of the Allied forces until Gen. Marshall’s armies from the west meet the armies from the south, thereby establishing one continuous front against the Reich.
