“THE BUZZARD"

NEW ALLIED PLANE Recd. 6 p.m. London, Sept. 29. Particulars are now released of an aircraft which has been in action on the battlefronts and has proved its worth. The men of the Eighth Army call it the “buzzard— (he eyes of the British Army.” It has many remarkable features. It is a low-wing monoplane with a maximum speed of 120 miles an hour, but it can take off in 50 yards and can land on loads and in fields. It climbs at more than 1000 feet a minute. It is not armed, and carries no armour, and for its defence relies on its ability to fly in small circles, presenting an extremely difficult target. It is fitted with a 130 horse-power engine, and can do 25 miles on a gallon of lueL
