DOCKYARD STRIKE

WORKERS AT MALTA Recd. 6 p.m. London, Sept. 29. Dockyard workers of Malta went on strike to-day following the announcement of the Government’s decision on their application for an increased war bonus.

Seventeen thosand workers struck six days last month, but returned to work-after a conference had been called by the Governor, Lord Gore. The Government agreed to increase subsidies for certain rationed goods, in view of the higher cost of living, and made a concession in regard to the minimum wage demanded. The workers consider the wages are still inadequate.
