MR. GORDON AT MARTON

NATTONIAL PARTY’S POLICY Addressing a large audience in the Civic Theatre, Marton, last night, Mr. E. B. Gordon, National candidate for Rangitikei, dealt at length with his party’s policy and assured his listeners that if the National Party were elected they would remove the present restrictions which were hampering private enterprise. Mr. Gordon also criticised the Government’s extravagance in war expenditure aad said this would have been avoided if the Government had heeded the advice of the Leader of the Opposition, Mr. S. G. Holland. Mr. Gordon was given a very attentive hearing with few interjections. At the conclusion of his address a motion of thanks and confidence, moved by Mr. G. G. Oliver and seconded by Mr. M. Cook, was carried. The Mayor of Marton, Mr. F. Purnell, presided. A full report of Mr. Gordon’s speech will appear in to-morrow’s issue.
