CHURCHILL’S SPEECH

NO SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT Recd. 11 p.m. Quebec, Aug. 30. The British spokesman told the Canadian Press agency that Mr. Churchill’s speech will not contain any special announcements but will deal “in a general way with a number of things.” After the broadcast Mr. Churchill will lunch with Mr. Mackenzie King, who arrived with the War Cabinet for their second meeting since Mr. Churchill's visit to Canada. Mr. Roosevelt returned to Washington to-day and immediately conferred with military State and diplomatic officials, apparently preparing for a renewal of his discussions with Mr. Churchill. Among those conferring with Mr. Roosevelt to-day were Dr. T. V. Soong, Mr. Cordell Hull, and Generals Marshall and Arnold.
