BOY’S SKULL FRACTURED

CAR HITS TELEPHONE POST (P.A.) Christchurch, Aug. 31. When the car in which they were driving from Rangiora to Fernside, left the road and struck a telephone post about 2.30 this afternoon, Donald Harper, aged about 14, and Beverley Amyes* aged about 17, daughter of Mr. C. G. Amyes, Fernside, received serious injuries. Both were admitted to a private hospital in Christchurch. It is believed that Harper has a fractured skull. The Rangiora to Cust telephone service was interrupted for several hours by the damage to the line.
