CIVIC SERVICE OF INTERCESSION A T the request of His Majesty the King to mark the fourth anniversary of the entry of the Empire into the War, a Civic Service of Intercession will be held in the Municipal Opera House at 11 o’clock on Friday morning next, 3rd September. The Citizens are earnestly Invited to be present and in this connection it would be appreciated if business firms would co-operate by closing their premises from 10.45 a.m. until midday. Returning Officer for the Electoral District of Rangitikei, do hereby give notice that, by virtue of a writ bearing date the 31st day of August. 1943 under the hand of the Clerk of the Writs, an election will be held for the return of a qualified person to serve as member for the said district, and that the latest hour for receiving nominations of candidates will be noon on the 9th day of September, 1943. and that the poll, if necessary, will be taken at the several pollingplaces of the said district on the 25th dav of September, 1943.
