PRISONERS OF WAR WORK Recd. 6 p.m. Sydey, Aug. 27. Prisoners of war in seven camps in Japan are working in coa] mines and as stevedores, according to an official report received by the Australian Red Cross. The camps are near the big industrial centres of Kukuoka arid Übeshinakawa. The report states that prisoners at other camps on islands in Japan’s inland sea are engaged on similar work. Normal working hours for prisoners are eight hours a day and wages are very low.
