GREAT DAMAGE AT HUES

Reed. 7 p.m. Rugby. Aug. 25. Reconnaissance photographs made weeks after daylight raids by the United States Eighth Air Force on the German synthetic rubber plant at Huis on June 26 show that the plant is out of operation as a result of the great damage inflicted by the Fortresses. Detailed study of the pictures reveals considerable damage throughout the plant, which is the second largest synthetic rubber factory in Germany. The official damage assessment. based on these pictures, lists 67 items of major damage. Many of the most important units and buildings have been damaged or destroyed. in this raid the Fortresses dropped over 400 tons of bombs in about three and a half minutes.—B.O.W.
