“CLEAN SWEEP”

MEAT BOARD ELECTION (P.A.) Wellington, Aug. 26. What the chairman of the New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board, Mr. T. A. Duncan, described as “a clean sweep" resulted in the election by the board's electoral committee, at the annual meeting in Wellington, of three producers’ representatives on the board. The three elected nominees were Messrs. W. W. Mulholland (Darfield), J. R. Lloyd Hammond (Rata), and G. H. Grigg (Hororatai. The three retiring sitting members, who were nominated for re-election and defeated, were Messrs. F. C. Johnstone (Waitetuna), L. Maclean (Hastings) and W. Doig (Papakaio). When the result was announced Mr. Duncan said an element had been introduced right through which he did not think was quite fair. He welcomed the new members and hoped that everything would go well. As for the defeated nominees, he had never sat with three bette - types of young men. No one would regret more than he their departure from the board.
