month’s hard labour by Mr. J. L. Stout. S.M. Senior-Sergeant G. Paine said the accused was found in the car manipulating the brakes and gears and trying to start the machine. His explanation was that he had been drinking with some Americans at the hotel outside which the vehicle was parked. They had gone upstairs and he was trying to start the car to attraet their attention. The magistrate said it was a very ingenious excuse, but he did not think he could accept
