MR. ALBERT THOMPSON TAIHAPE APPOINTMENT 1 _ Mr. Albert Thompson, M.A.. Dip. of j induration, headmaster of the Central; School. Napier, has been appointed headmaster of £he Taihape District High School. 17ie appointment is announced by the Wanganui Education Board. Mr. Thompson succeeds Mr.; V. Parsons, who has taken up an anpointment under the Auckland Education Board. He lakes up his duties ini Taihape at the beginning of the new I term. j Prior to going to Napier, Mr. Thomp-■ son taught in Havelock North, and before that was on the staff of the Ohura District High School, under the jurisdiction of the i» ranaki Education Board. A Canterbury man, Mr. Thompson is a graduate of Canterbury University College. He played for the South Island Rugby team in 1920 and 1921 and has also represented Canterbury province. In Christchurch he was also a prominent referee, having officialed at interprovincial matches, and has represented his college at both Rugby and athletics. Mr. Thompson has held executive office on the Canterbury Rugby Union and Amateur Athletic Centre* Ohura Sub-Union and Hastings Sub-Union.
