TEACHER FAREWELLED

MR. V. PARSONS, OF TAIHAPE (0.C.) Taihape, Aug. 24. Mr. V. Parsons, headmaster of the Taihape District High School, was farewelled recently. Mr. W. Jurgens presided. There were also present the Mayor, Mr. E. Loader, the Rev. Father Doolaghty, the Revs. Ivan Muir and W. M. Smallfield, and members of the school committee. Mr. Jurgens expressed regret at the departure of Mr. and Mrs. Parsons from the town. He had accomplished much for the school during his stay of more than two years in Taihape. Father Doolaghty thanked Mr. Parsons for his many kindnesses to the pupils of the Convent School and wished him every success in Dargaville. On behalf of the staff, committee and pupils, Mr. Jurgens presented Mr. Parsons with a handsome oak desk. Father Doolaghty presented him with a pipe and smoker’s companion on behalf of the Convent School.
