BRITISH AIR APPOINTMENT

London, April 7. Air-Marshal Sir Douglas C. S. Evill has been appointed Vice-Chief of the Air Staff and additional member of the Air Council, in place of Air ViceMarshal C. E. H. Medhurst. AirMarshal Evill succeeded Air-Marshal Harris as head of the R.A.F. delegation to Washington in February, 1942. Sir Douglas Evill is a cousin of AirChief Marshal Sir Arthur Longmore, former Chief of the Air Force, and Inspector-General of the Royal Ail Force, and who was a member of the Air Mission to Australia and New Zealand in 1939; and also of Mrs. Graeme Watson, of Wellington.
