BRUTAL REPRISALS
AXIS TRO9PS /ND GREEK PATRIOTS Reed. 6.5 p.m. London. March IS. Greek patriots occupied the town Of Padigani and held it for several days, says an Ankara message. German and Italian troops recaptured the town only after stiff fighting and the employment of plane 5 . Italian troops also had to retake Kastoria from patriots. One hundred and twenty citizens of Kastoria were executed as a reprisal and 500 hostages taken. The people of Athens openly demonstrating against oppressive German measures recently marched to the Government building of the Ministry of Labour. Italians were only able to quell skirmishes in central Athens with the aid of tanks and bombs.
