M LCARTHUR SUBSCRIBES AGAIN Recd. 10 p.m. Sydney, March 17. General MacArthur to-day celebrated the first anniversary of his arrival in Australia by investing £5OO in th-; third Liberty Loan. He previouslyhad been a heavy subscriber to earlier loans. In a message to the people of Australia General MacArthur said: ‘I regard it as a special privilege to subscribe to the Liberty Loan to show, in some small way, my gratitude for the warmth of the hospitality accorded me in this great land, my admiration for its magnificent war effort and my reverence for those immortal men who have suffered and died that Australia might live and prosper.”
