Said to be an action-thrilling drams of those most fateful 24 hours in history, Columbia's “Submarine Raider" screens at the Regent Theatre to-day. Dramatic, tensely stirring story of a duel between an American submarine and a Japanese aircraft carrier. “Submarine Raider” features John Howard and Marguerite Chapman, with a stellar supporting cast which includes Bruce Bennett, Eileen O'Hearn, Larry Parks, Roger Clark and Warren Ashe. “Submarine Raider” was put into production by the Columbia Studios ns soon after the treacherous attack as possible; it is believed to be the first dramat.c screen production to reproduce in all their glowing story, the her. ism of a handful fighting against desperate odds, flinging defiance . . . ar..; shells ... to nip Nippon's savage fury. The film is unique, too, in that an important number of scenes .are played in a locale hitherto foreign to films, a Japanese plane carrier. The associate feature, "The Great Mr. Nbbody," starring Eddie Albert and Joan Lfs’ie, is a gay, rollicking comedy with a pertinent theme.
