POSITION AT OTAGO SCHOOL (P.A.) Dunedin, March 17. As a result of the conference with the Ministers, the University Council has decided to increase the number of medical students entering this year to 120 - , Dr. Hercus said that while only 59 graduated last year there would be 86 this year, and unless immigration made an unexpected increase in the population be calculated that the school's output would overtake the leeway by 1947-48. He also referred to the danger of a surplus of medical students in Australia, due to the establishment of a school in Queensland, and the possibility of this surplus coming to New Zealand.
