“DESERT VICTORY”

GIFT FILM FOR MR. ROOSEVELT Recd. 6 p.m. Rugby, March 15. It was stated at the White House to-day that President Roosevelt was very impressed with a motion picture. "Desert Victory,” presented by Mr. Churchill, showing phases of the British Eighth Army’s rout of Rommel’s forces in the Libyan desert. The film arrived from London last night, and was shown before the President and Mrs. Roosevelt, Mr. Anthony Eden, and other guests at the White House. The film was accompanied by a note from Mr. Churchill, in which he said he knew the President would be interested in the nicture of “your Sherman tanks” in action. He added that he was feeling much better and hoped soon to return to full work at Downing Street.—B.O.W.
