ENEMY’S URGENCY

UNCEASING ATTACK

Herd. 6 p.m. Rugby, March 15. Berlin radio says that the German High Command, which yesterday claimed the recapture of Kharkov, speaks of the occupation of the most important part of the city. A claim to have entered the Red Square and the railway station, J presumably the southern station, and the centre of the city is repeated, though bitter Soviet defence in the factory districts and the suburban area is admitted. The Russians, in a supplement to the morning communique, admit a -retreat to new positions in one sector after stubborn fighting. One Moscow message says that the Red Army is slowly falling back in the Kharkov area and inflicting heavy losses on the Germans, who are maintaining their numerical superiority. It adds that the enemy’s desire to recapture Kharkov is so great that they are fighting non-stop, day and night.—B.O.W.
