NEEDS IN PACIFIC WAR theatres. Sydney. March 12. American Red Cross needs for the vear in the south-west and south Pacific theatres of war will nrobablv exceed 3.000.000 dollars (£935,700) though they were originally estimated at 500.000 dollars, said Mr. Charles K. Gamble, commissioner for the organisation in these areas, who has returned to Sydney after a five months’ absence in America. The American Red Cross personnel I when he left was '’bout 75 in these .areas. Now it is 225 and will reach 500 by the end of the year.
