FAR-REACHING PROPOSALS Recd. 6 o.m. Washington, March 14. Coinciding with Mr. Anthony Eden’s visit, a group of leading Democratic and Republican Senators will to-dav make far-reaching proposals to Mr. Roosevelt about foreign policy during and after the war. The associated Press says the Senators will urge on the President that the United States take the initiative in forming a permanent organisation with the Allies for closer military and political co-ordination, also for the establishment of a post-war body for the settlement of international disputes. The proposals are expected to reach the Senate as a resolution on Tuesday. Senators have suggested that the United States call a meeting of the United Nations’ representatives for the purpose of forming an organisation with "specific and limited authority” to: (1) Assist in co-ordinating and fully utilising the military and economic resources of all member nations for the prosecution of ‘he war against the Axis. (2) Establish temporary administrations for Axis controlled countries when, occupied by the United Nations <3f Administer relief assistance in the economic rehabilitation of member nations, also nations fre»d from the Axis. (4) Establish procedure and machinery for a peaceful settlement of international disputes. (5) Provide for the assembly and maintenance of the United Nations military force with which immediately Io suppress any future attempt at military aggression by any nation.
