DAILY INTERCESSION

O God, the Lord . . . Thou hast fevered my head in the day of battle.— Psalm cxl: 7. Without Thy protection, O Lord our God, our house may at any moment be our grave; but with Thee protecting us how safe we are, even amid the perils of battle. We think at this moment of loved ones amid the peril of war on the land, in the air, and on or beneath the sea. How often hast Thou intervened for their deliverance. Keep them still. We pray, too, that they may be preserved from the yet more subtle and deadly perils that beset the soul. Constrain them each day to put on the whole armour of God; the helmet of salvation, the breastplate of righteousness, being girt about with truth, and grasping the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, for the sake of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
