“THINKING DAY” SERVICES

BOY SCOUTS AND GUIDES TO PARADE The Wanganui Boy Scouts’ Association will to-morrow celebrate “Thinking Day,” the founder’s birthday, with a church parade which will be held at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church. The service will be conducted by the Rev. A. C. McLean. During the service Scout hymns will be sung and the colours of the different troops will be received by the officiating minister. The renewal of the Scout promise is a customary feature of the service. Scouts will parade outside St. Paul’s Hall ar. 10.40 a.m. Wanganui Girl Guides will hold their “Thinking Day” service in the Girls’ College Hall to-morrow afternoon. beginning at 2.30 p.m. Lord Baden Powell was born on February 22, 1857. He visited New Zealand in 1912, 1931, and 1935. He died at Nyeri, Kenya, South Africa, on January 8, 1941. It is a coincident that his wife’s birthday also falls on February 22.
