Honeyfield and Edgecombe, Whenuakura, were recent visitors to Hawera. Mrs. F. Locker has returned after spending a short vacation in the Thames district. Mrs. Stretton has returned after a visit to Auckland. Miss F. Power has left on a visit to Auckland. WAITOTARA Mrs. W. R. S. Brewer returned recently from New Plymouth, where she was the guest of Mrs. Ashton, who is now Mrs. Brewer’s guest at “Waihau.” Mrs. W. Simson, Nukumaru, has returned to her home with her twin babies, a son and a daughter. Miss Nita Laird will return this week from a holiday spent in Christchurch. Mrs. A. Hurley has had as her guests her mother, Mrs. Smith, Wanganui, and her sister, Mrs. Fernley, Wellington. Mrs. Johansen and her daughters, Palmerston North, spent a recent week-end with Mrs. W. Dobie. Friends of Mrs. Gorrell, late of Maxwell, will regret to hear of her illness. She is an inmate of the Hawera Hospital. MARTON. Captain T. Gerald Harpur and Mrs. Harpur are at present spending a holiday in Marton. Miss F. L. Way is spending a week’s holiday at Otorohanga. At the annual meeting of the Rangitikei Electoral Committee, Mrs. J. Caithness was re-elected president.
