Carey, who presided at the monthly meeting of the Palea Women’s Institute. On behalf of the members she welcomed Mrs. Featonby. A demonstration on apple preserving was given by Mesdames R. M. Stevens and G. Francis, and Mrs. J. Haarer gave a talk on Dame Enid Lyons. results: Tumbler of flowers. Mrs. Meuli 1. Mrs. Hillier 2; bloom. Miss Lawson 1 and 2, Mrs. S. Gunn 3; crochet (Toy ley, Mrs. Boagey 1. At the Carlyle Women's Institute meeting Mrs. Butters presided, and Mrs. Sheilds gave a talk about floral decoration, which was anpreciated by all. Competitions resulted: Shoulder spray, Mrs. Pcacocke 1. Mrs. Conner 2. Mrs. Brierley 3: best blonm, Mrs. Oakley 1. Mi's. Peacocke 2. Mrs. Brierley 3. Hostesses were Mesdames Butters, Cooper, and Brierley.
