FORTRESES BOMB PALERMO
(Recd. 12.30 a.m.) London, Feb. 16. American Flying Fortresses, raiding Sicily for the first time from North African bases, heavily bombed the docks and shipping at Palermo, scoring a direct hit on a large merchantman and also hitting oil tanks and dry docks. All the planes returned.
