EMPLOYMENT AFTER WAR
DISCUSSIONS IN BRITAIN (Recd. 6.30 p.m.) Rugby, Feb. 15. The Board of Trade is sending a questionnaire to all industries and trade associations, asking what obstacles they see in the way of full activity and employment after the war. Mr. Hugh Dalton. Minister of Economic Welfare, announced. Mr. Dalton said that discussions were going on in industry by industry and the trade unions concerned. He hoped within a reasonable time to get a complete picture of the position and to lay firmly placed plans to make ns ouick a switch-over to peace as possible.
Mr. Dalton also stated that no cut in the clothes ration was contemplated. The clothing coupons, which were due to terminate on July 31. mign. have to last longer, but that would depend on the supply position.— 8.0.W.
