EDUCATION BOARD APPOINTMENTS The appointment of Mr. A. E. Mills as head teacher of the Oroua Downs School, and Mr. W. H. Barton as headmaster of the Whenuakura School were among the teaching appointments confirmed at the montnly meeting of the Wanganui Education Board held yesterday. Other appointments were: Miss M. A. Coulter, assistant-mistress, Parewanui; Miss M. L. Cherrie, assistantmistress, Piriaka; Miss M. Gould, temporary sole teacher, Kaukatea. The following resignations were received: Mr. J. G. Hogan, temporary sole teacher, Kaukatea; Miss B. H. Ferguson, temporary sole teacher, Potaka Road; Miss P. Childs, temporary sole teacher, Rangitatau. The following teachers have been appointed to other positions in the board's service: Mr. R. H. Allen, head teacher, Whenuakura; Miss L. G. Cameron, assistant-mistress, Marton Junction.
The following war appointment was made: Miss M. M. Caird, sole teacher, Glyneath.
