CYCLE THEFTS ADMITTED
ACCUSED REVERSES PLEA Having pleaded not guilty in the Magistrate’s Court to six charges • of stealing cycles, Malcolm Arnold Rasmussen, tramway employee, aged 27. reversed his plea and admitted the charges when he appeared before Mr. Justice Smith in the Supreme Court, Wanganui, yesterday. Six cycles were involved in the charges, their total value being £5l 10s. Mr. A. D. Brodie appeared for Rasmussen, who was remanded for sentence at the close of the .criminal session. Bail was continued. Howard Halliday Crutchley, soldier, aged 18, pleaded not guilty in the Lower Court to two charges involving indecency, also changed his plea and was remanded till 10 a.m. to-day for sentence.
Crutchley, for whom Mr. J. R. Brown appeared,' was charged that, on November 14. last, at Rapanui. he wilfully did an indecent act with in'ent to offend, and that on November 15, at Rananui, ho indecently assaulted a Bail was cont’nued. Prisoners changed their nlea under Section - 4 1 of the Statutes Amendment Act, 1936.
