ASHBURTON BLAZE
RACECOURSE STAND LOST.
(P.A.) Ashburton Feb. 12 The main stand at the Ashburton Racecourse was destroyed by fire early to-day. The building was in the occupation of the Government Department and no information on the*>rigin of the fire is forthcoming. Th< stand was built four years ago at a cost ot £13,000, and was insured in the Commercial Union for abort two-thirds ot its cost. Only the concrete portions remain standing.
