THE WESTFIELD SALE (R-A.) Auckland, Jan. 26. At the Westfield sale a small entry ot well-finished ox beef sold under keen competition, realising very firm late rates. An average entry of cows and heifers also sold freely at full late quotations. Extra choice ox beef made £1 19s per 1001 b., choice and prime. £1 16s to £1 18s, secondary and plain £1 12s to £1 14s, extra prime young cow and heifer £1 Ils to £1 15s, choice and prime £1 8s to £1 10s, ordinary cow beef £1 3s to £1 ss. Extra heavy nrime steers £l4 to £l5 10s, heavy £l3*to £l3 15s, lighter £l2 to £l2 15s, light £ll to £ll 17s 6d, small and unfinished £1 to £lO 10s. Extra heavy prime young cows and heifers made £lO 10s to £ll 7s 6d, heavy £8 10s to £9 15s, lighter £6 10s to £7 15s light £4 to £6. A moderate entry of mutton sold keenly. There was a good yarding of calves. Bidding was steady lor all prime runners and vealers. with values on a par with late quotations. Plain and unfinished calves were again easier. Runners made £5 10s to £9 14s, heavy vealers £5 5s to £6 10s, medium £4 10s to £5, light. £3 5s to £4 ss. small £1 5s to £3, unfinished and bucfjtt-fed 15s to £1 US, bobby and rough calves 3s to 18s.
