MISHAP TO U.S. BATTLESHIP
Washington, Dec. 29. The Secretary of the Navy, Colonel Frank Knox, told a Press conference that an American battleship struck an uncharted reef very early in the war and had long since been renaired. Reporters had questioned Co'onel Knox regarding reports that a mishan to a battleship had occurred in the South Pacific. The Secretary gave no details of time or place.
