IDEALS FOR POST-WAR SECURITY ALLIED OCCUPATION OF JAPAN (By Telegraph—Press Assoc i.tion—Copyright) (Recd. 7.30 p.m.) Chungking, Dec. 28. China's post-war ideais are given by the official Central Daily News as follows: 1. The disarming of Japan and the return of all former Chinese territories and the temporary Allied occupation of Japan to ensure that the peace terms are properly carried out. with the punishment of Japanese militarists responsible for the war. 2. The abolition of all unequal treaties with foreign Powers and all treaties affecting Chinas sovereignty, the abolition of laws and regulations giving overseas Chinese discriminatory treatment, and increased economic co-operation with foreign Powers ‘to accelerate the industrialisation of China. 3. Recognition of the small, weak Asiatic States’ right of self-determina-tion and self-government. 4. A "good neighbour” policy of economic and political co-operation, based on equality, and the abolition of ideas like that of the white man's burden. with absolute economic equality of Chinese living in countries like Thailand. Malaya, the Philippines and the Dutch East Indies. The newspaper adds: “China is not cherishing ideas like an Asiatic Mon- ' roe Doctrine”
