WAIMARINO RETURNED SERVICES ASSN. (0.C.) Raetihi, Dec. 22. The monthly meeting of the Waiinarino R.S.A. was held on Thursday evening, the president, Mr. W. Journeaux, presiding over a good attendance. In accordance with a circular from headquarters it was decided to apply to the Waimarino Patriotic Committee, Zone L, for fifty per cent, representation on their committee and also on the Raetihi Welfare Committee. It was agreed that the Ohakune R.S.A. i be asked to support the application and to share the representation on Zone L. Committee. It was also decided to support headquarter’s request that the 50 per cent, representation should be made general. It was decided to make a suggestion to the Rehabilitation Board that the block of native land on the outskirts of Raetihi was considered an ideal place for the scheme for settlement of returned servicemen and could provide employment in its development. 1 Christmas grants to some R.S.A. members were approved It wag arranged tn.it a deputation wait upon the Borough Council at its next meeting to request the couuc’l tc provide a site for a clubi oom for the use of returned servicemen of the R.S.A. At the close of the meeting opportunity was taken to make a presentation to Miss D. Giddy, who had made supper for the committee at each of their monthly meetings. In making the presentation, Mr. Journeaux thanked Miss Giddy for her work and on behalf of the committee handed her a beautiful feltex shopping bag Miss Giddy suitably replied and expressed her appreciation of their kindly thought.
