MARTON Mr. and Mrs. W. Burgess, Russell SI reel, Marlon, have received advice that ’their son, Sergeant James Michael, R.N.Z.A.F., is reported missing on air operations. The death occurred at Tauranga on Monday of Mr. Job Harrison. For a number of years Mr. Harrison was a resident of Mar.on and in partnership with the late Mr. Thos. Ward as a general grocer. As a member of the Marton Volunteer Fire Brigade he was one of a successful team that took part in lire brigade competitions; throughout New Zealand when the late Mr. S. Gibbons was superintendent of the Marton Brigade*. At Tauranga he carried on his profession as a building contractor, from which he eventually retired, and devoted his time to sea fishing. He was an ardent sportsman and played his nart with distinction in sporting activities in Marton.
