STRUCK PARKED CAR

DRIVER WHO FAILED TO REPORT ACCIDENT , “The more serious charge is that of failing to report, an accident. It cannot be dealt with lightly,” commented Mr. J. H. Salmon. S.M.. in the Magistrate’s Court, Wanganui, yesterday, when William John Darcy McGonaglo admitted driving a motor-car in Wilson Street on September 24 without due care and attention. A woman was injured and he was also charged with failing to report the accident to the nearest police station. He was Mined £3, costs 10s, on the first charge, land £5. costs 10s. on the second. I Detective-Sergeant J. K. Robertson said complainant in this case parked his car outside his home in Wilson I Street and at four o’clock in the morning heard the sound of a collision. McGonagle. the detective-sergeant stated, said he held a party that night at his residence and was driving some friends home when the accident occurred. He lost his head after striking the parked car and did not stop. A woman passenger in the front seat of defendant’s car received a cut on the forehead which bled considerably but did not require medical attention.
