MAJOR-GENERAL LUMSDEN PROMOTED
Rugby, Sept. 26. Major-General H. Lumsden, who succeeded General Gott in the Middle East as commander of the 30th (Tank) Corps, and who was reported wounded earlier this month, has been' granted the active rank of Lieu-I tenant-General. He is 45, one of the' | best horsemen in England, and rode several times in the Grand National. —8.0.W. ~
