Liabilities in curencies other than New Zealand currency were £15,401 (an increase of £1705), thus making the bank’s net overseas assets £25,168,208, a decrease for the week of £495.876. A year ago these assets totalled £14,502,769. Advances to the State Marketing Department total £6,014,132 a further decrease of £89,646. A year ago they stood at £6,961,505. Advances to the State for other purposes remain unchanged at £22,300,000 against £12.500,000 a year ago. The note issue on September 14 totalled £26,741,601, a decrease for the week of £142,• 678. A year ago it stood at £22,142,196. Demand liabilities to the State amount to £10,937,021. a decrease of £718,744. The trading banks’ reserve balances total £21,401, 010, an increase of £266906. Other demand liabilities at £655,798 have increased by £50,797. The statement balances at £61,951,267. a decrease of £551,939.
