WANGANUI DISTRICT CALL-UP. The latest call-up for military service brings the total number of Wanganui names gazetted to 16,965, but a small proportion of the men were called up first for territorial service and then for overseas service at the time when separate ballots were held. Auckland heads the list, 46,326 names being gazetted. The total for the Wellington area is 35,065, and for Canterbury 39,703. The totals of the names in each military area in the 17 ballots and call-ups to date are as follows: — Auckland, 46.326; Paeroa, 14 509; WhangarJj, 11,879; Hamilton. 16 949; Wellington 35,065; Wanganui, 16 965; Nanier, 21,160; New Plymouth, 11,153; Nelson. 14.484: Christchurch. 39.703; Dunedin. 20,876: Invercargill, 15,836. The Wanganui Military District (Area No. 6) extends from Wanganui through Feilding and Palmerston North to Levin, and includes the Waimarino and Taihape districts
