Extension of Oyster Season. The oyster catching season in Otago which usually closes on September 15, has been extended to September 30, but retail merchants . with supplies in hand will be able to dispose of them after that date. The extension of the season has been made possible by the recent spell of cold weather, which has assured the good condition of the oysters on the beds. Recently consignments have been coming to hand more regularly than was the case earlier in the season, which opened on February 15.
