LATE MR. A. W. J. PEACOCK

FUNERAL AT ARAMOHO CEMETERY Tennis and business circles with which the late Mr. A. W. J. Peacock was associated were largely represented at his funeral, which took place at the Aramoho cemetery yesterday morning. The cortege included Mr. G. P. Williamson, president of the Wanganui Lawn Tennis Association, who also represented the Wanganui East Tennis Club; Mr. N. R. Bain, a former president of the Wanganui Lawn Tennis Association; Messrs. E. D. Bennett (St. John’s Tennis Club), J Meuli (Gonville Tennis Club), Sec-ond-Lieutenant N. Hay Campbell (Wanganui Tennis Club), P. C. Jordan and G. Turney (Wellington) representing the head office of the Public Trust Department; T. R. Allen, Deputv-Public Trustee, Wanganui; L. G. ’Brooker, W. H. Cannan and J. Marumaru, Native Department; A. Garry, Armed Forces Appeal Board, and G. D. Frost, National Service Department.

The pallbearers were Messrs. S. A. Gibson, H. S. Eccles (Public Trust Office), G. P. Williamson, N. R. Bain, M. L. Lampe, and E. D. Bennett.

The Rev. E. W. Bergin officiated at a service at the residence and at the graveside.
